A fine antique Regency rosewood card table of particularly rich colour and striking grain. The top shows beautifully figured rosewood with strong natural movement framed by delicate brass line inlay which continues around the frieze with elegant anthemion style motifs. The proportions are well balanced and the overall look is refined yet bold.The table stands on a solid central column with a quadriform base finished with shaped feet and original castors. This is a high quality construction and gives the piece excellent stability while also allowing it to be moved easily around a room.The top opens to reveal a baize lined playing surface designed for card games such as whist or bridge.
