Indian Blockprint Panel, End of the 19th Century, 85cm X 85cm

Description

It is difficult to attribute this pretty panel with certainty as similar techniques and products were made in both India and Persia during the course of the 19th century. However, on balance, the colours suggest an Indian source is more likely. Rows of small botehs decorate the rouge field the direction of the botehs alternating each row. A new narrow border has been added to complete a very pretty panel. Lined.
