This Renaissance to 17th century Savoyard Death's Head helmet is an iron and steel military headpiece with a dark brown finish and a visible patinated surface showing signs of age. The object takes the form of a skull-shaped visor equipped with round orbital eye cutouts, a nose cavity, a toothy slit, and a raised central comb running over the top of the helmet, complemented by riveted gorget plates that extend down around the neck. The structural configuration includes a brow peak, articulated metal tiers across the lower guard, and small metal studs bordering the edges.
