A handsome late 19th-century floor-standing dinner gong in excellent antique condition, complete with its padded-head oak striker. The circular brass/bronze gong is suspended within a richly carved solid oak frame, an impressive showcase of Victorian craftsmanship, decorated with scrolling foliage, berried branches, and a boldly carved lion rampant crest. The gong hangs from twin cords, its surface showing a mellow, time-softened patina earned through decades of use. A decorative yet functional piece with real presence, ideal for a hallway, dining room, or any interior that appreciates traditional British carving and late-Victorian design.
