A superb pair of Art Deco oak bookends made by Gordon Russell at his workshop in Broadway in the Cotswolds

They are stamped on the underside and date to around the 1930’s

In completely original condition with a lovely deep grain configuration and a rich waxed patina

Gordon Russell ( 1892 - 1980 ) was an English designer and craftsman and was a leading light in the Cotswold school of furniture and artefacts

His early work is highly sought after and pieces such as these are highly collectible

They measure 5 1/2 inches high , 3 1/2 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches deep
