Description

19th Century British military presentation gilt metal badge encased in a decorative walnut frame, the badge featuring the motto "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense" and the number "5" this motto translates from Norman French to "Shame on him who thinks evil of it" The regiment is the 5th (Princess Charlotte's) dragoons, part of the heavy brigade at Crimea. Circa 1860.
