Unusual Victorian Tinsel Print Applied with Fabric

very unusual Victorian tinsel print of ladies where the costumes are elaborated applied with fabric. The print features two Georgian style ladies in wonderfully over the top costumes. The print base has been beautifully hand painted and the colours are fresh and bright. The dresses and hats of the figures have been cut out of the print and replaced with sumptuous fabrics to replicate the garments. The quality of the fabric work is superb with the use of silk and lace to reproduce the dresses, hats and even a muff. The whole condition of the print is excellent with just the odd minor fault and the fabric too is in excellent condition with just light fading as would be expected. The whole is mounted in the original box frame with a simple carved and gilded edge. The frame is in very good condition with some minor repairs and mostly original gilding. This is a very rare and unusual piece with a great period look. C.1850
