Charming Victorian Photograph Frame

Description

Vickery, Regency St. London: an unusual and humorous PHOTOGRAPH FRAME, in the form of a shuttered mahogany ‘window’ at which stands an ormolu Cupid, naked but with bow and arrows on his shoulder. He peers through a gap in the shutters, which are hinged and open to reveal the photograph behind. This can be either hung from a ring at the top of the back, or free-standing with an easel support, which is signed: “Vickery, to their Majesties the King and Queen, Regent Street, W. Measures 7ins x rins (18 x12.5cms).
