The Royal Porcelain Factory in Berlin, known as KPM, was established in the 18th century under the patronage of Frederick the Great and became renowned for its high artistic and technical standards in European ceramics.

These pieces are crafted from high-fired hard-paste porcelain, shaped by skilled artisans, and hand-painted with mineral-based pigments often accented with intricate gilding before undergoing high-temperature firing.

Authenticity is typically verified by examining the underglaze blue sceptre mark, often accompanied by the red orb or iron-red KPM stamp, alongside superior hand-painting quality and crisp potting.

Such decorative vessels can be displayed on a mantelpiece, within a glass-fronted cabinet, or used as a standalone accent piece on a sideboard to add a touch of historical craftsmanship to contemporary spaces.

Antique porcelain should be gently hand-washed in lukewarm water using mild detergent when necessary, avoiding abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals to protect the delicate hand-painted enamel and gold leaf.
