FAQs

Art Deco emerged in the interwar period, characterised by sleek geometric lines, stylised motifs, and the use of luxurious veneers such as burr walnut and satinwood.

Cabinet makers typically utilised solid hardwood frames overlaid with decorative wood veneers, employing traditional joinery methods such as mortise and tenon to ensure structural integrity.

Authenticity is generally determined by makers marks, stamps or brass plaques, alongside period-appropriate construction methods, timber selections, and honest patination.

Combining a historical timber table with modern minimalist seating creates a balanced contrast, highlighting the natural grain and craftsmanship of the vintage piece.

Surfaces should be dusted regularly with a soft, dry cloth and treated periodically with traditional beeswax to nourish the timber and protect the finish from moisture.
