A GEORGE III Satinwood Marquetry Giltwood and Composition Demi-Lune Side Table.

This stunning table was executed in the finest gilding and composition and has survived in the most wonderful state. The fine West Indian satinwood has a rich colour and figuring bordered by a sycamore marquetry border inlayed with floral motives.

An exceedingly rare feature is the beautifully and oversized painted panel depicting an ancient greek theme of Demeter, the goddess of harvest.

Robert Cunninghame Graham (1737-1797), ether at Finlaystone House (sold 1862), Gartmore House (sold 1900) or Ardoch House and by descent to:

Lady Patricia Cunninghame Graham (on loan to Culzean Castle, 1982-2017).
