This striking silk ikat panel is composed of six panels which gives it additional width than most panels. The use of three colours, magenta, ivory and saffron yellow, is dramatic. But there is also a subtle fading of the colours which makes it very decorative. In addition, it is lined on the back with a wonderful cotton chintz, probably Russian and of the same period as the ikat. Sourced in Uzbekistan some fifty years ago, this lovely pieces bears all the hallmarks of Uzbek textile art. Ideal as a bedcover or wall hanging.
