Tinker & Toad has dated this piece to the 1910s.
Crafted in their factory in Barrhead, Scotland, it features striking veined marble with a lipped surround to contain water spills and a tall splashback fitted with its original glass shelf. The piece is supported by smart, tapered chrome legs to the front and retains its original chrome taps and grillAn , a testament to its quality. Height given does not include the splashback.

Founded by the enterprising Scottish plumber John Shanks, the company grew from a modest operation in the 1850s into a major sanitaryware manufacturer. Shanks' dedication to innovation and craftsmanship helped revolutionize indoor plumbing in Britain. Eventually, the firm merged with Armitage to become Armitage Shanks, a name still synonymous with quality bathroom fixtures today.
A rare survivor in very good condition considering its age, this washstand is both a practical feature and a piece of design history.
