Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

Wicker furniture gained popularity in European sunrooms and conservatories during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, heavily influenced by imported materials from East Asia and tropical colonies.

Authentic pieces typically feature a steam-bent structural framework of rattan or bamboo, woven with pliable plant fibres such as split reed, rush, or willow over mortise-and-tenon or whipped joints.

Authenticity is indicated by natural material ageing, traditional hand-weaving irregularities, layers of historic chipped paint or patination, and sturdy frame construction rather than modern synthetic resins.

This piece works effectively to introduce texture and a pop of colour into neutral living spaces, sunrooms, or eclectic bedrooms, functioning well as a display surface for ceramics or botanical elements.

Maintain the material by dusting regularly with a soft brush, avoiding excess moisture to prevent fibre degradation, and keeping the item away from direct heat sources and strong sunlight.
