Large Victorian Ceramic Pestle & Mortar

Description

A large Victorian Pestle and Mortar.  Manufactured by S.Maw, Son & Sons who were manufacturers and suppliers of pharmaceutical products.

Makers mark stamped on the base of the mortar and an impressed mark stating that it is acid proof and the number 10 (the size).  The large pestle has a wooden handle and is size 8.

In good used condition and is as useful now as it was 150 years ago and it is also a great decorative item for a kitchen.
