Opus Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Unusually it has a brass end rather than wood, which would have been expensive to make - to replicate a bellows.
Possibly the bellows shaped snuff boxes gave the allusion of blowing away the snuff dust!
It measures 12.6cm l x 6cm w at the widest point.
