Description

Recently used as a cushion, this Belouch bag has very good soft wool and an interesting design. The burnt-orange central eight-pointed star appears to be floating above a decorative fretwork field of aubergine and sapphire blue. Its a very unusual and striking composition. The inner guard stripe with the reciprocal border and the wider main border provide a perfect frame. The original back is intact. Dating to the early 20th century this lovely piece has survived in very good condition with a soft velvety pile, and would make a delightful furnishing item for many settings.
