Anglo-Indian furniture bridges British design aesthetics with traditional Indian craftsmanship, typically utilising local dense hardwoods like rosewood or teak.

These pieces were handcrafted primarily using native tropical hardwoods such as solid rosewood, shisham, and teak, prized for their durability and rich grain.

Authentic pieces exhibit heavy weight, deep natural grain variation, traditional joinery methods, and signs of age such as minor shrinkage and oxidisation in the timber.

Pair the rich wood tones with minimalist modern seating and sleek lighting to create a balanced contrast between historical character and clean lines.

Dust regularly with a dry cloth and occasionally treat the timber with a natural beeswax to nourish the wood without damaging the historic finish.
