Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Traditional painted Indian door frames originate primarily from regions like Rajasthan and Gujarat, where timber elements of grand domestic structures and havelis were embellished with hand-painted folk iconography, court scenes, and intricate floral borders.

These architectural features were built from durable hardwoods such as teak or mango wood using mortise and tenon joinery, then finished with mineral pigments, lacquers, and hand-forged iron fittings.

Authentic pieces exhibit visible layered paint wear, hand-chiselled joinery, traditional iron drop-handles, and natural patination across exposed timber surfaces.

A painted door surround can be mounted flat against an expansive wall as a floor-to-ceiling focal point, placed behind console tables to add structural visual height, or integrated as a decorative portal in open-plan spaces.

Dust painted timber regularly with a dry, soft-bristled brush or microfibre cloth, avoid placing the object in direct sunlight or high humidity, and refrain from applying liquid or chemical cleansers that may dissolve original pigments.
