FAQs

A loving mug is a large drinking vessel traditionally fitted with two or more handles, designed to be passed among guests during celebratory toasts and communal gatherings.

These pieces were typically crafted from earthenware or stoneware, featuring transfer-printed decorations applied before glazing and high-temperature firing.

Authenticity is assessed through examination of the glaze crazing, transfer consistency, base wear marks, and the specific chemical composition of the ceramic body characteristic of the period.

An antique loving mug can be displayed as a standalone decorative object on a bookshelf, mantelpiece, or sideboard, adding historical texture to contemporary spaces.

Antique ceramics should be kept out of direct sunlight, hand-washed gently with mild soap when necessary, and protected from sudden temperature fluctuations to prevent glaze cracking.
