The Edwardian Arts and Crafts movement emerged in the early 20th century, prioritising simple forms, visible construction, and traditional craftsmanship over heavy Victorian ornamentation.

Maker workshops typically utilised solid hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, and walnut, frequently incorporating mortise and tenon joinery for structural integrity.

Authenticity is indicated by period-appropriate timber patination, hand-cut joinery, subtle tool marks, and hardware consistent with early 1900s manufacturing techniques.

Pairing historical timber pieces with minimalist upholstery, modern lighting, and neutral backdrops creates a balanced interior scheme that highlights the antiques texture.

Maintain timber condition by applying natural beeswax periodically, avoiding direct sunlight, and keeping the piece away from sudden temperature and humidity fluctuations.
