Regent Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
This one is most likely a 1929 model and has the larger HMV logo inside the case lid. It has not been serviced recently but the motor speed is stable and tone good.
The motor will play around one and a half sides from a full wind. It has got an automatic or manual start/stop, via selector lever. Single spring motor with the 5a soundbox and very proportional tone arm and horn system.
Complete with a period tin needle case and spare needles.

His Master's Voice, abbreviated HMV is a trademark in the music business, and for many years was the name of a large record label. The name was coined in 1899 as the title of a painting of the dog Nipper listening to a wind-up gramophone. In the photograph on which the painting was based, the dog was listening to a phonograph cylinder. This image comes from a painting by English artist Francis Barraud, A.R.A. and titled His Master's Voice.
