A pair of Day''s patent scent pots, in the high Gothic style, made in gilded bronze and lined with blue glass. Day''s Patent was a method of casting decorative metalwork patented by James Day of Birmingham. This pair aswell as being rare in themselves are in excellent condition with unusually all the gilding intact and the liners and the lids. The pair also retain their labels below. The pair are in the high gothic taste with window tracery all around, Pugin the advocate of gothic revival was a fan of Day''s work.
