Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Masons Ironstone is a type of heavy earthenware patented by Miles Mason in 1813, designed to be a durable and affordable alternative to imported Chinese porcelain while featuring rich Oriental-inspired designs.

These pieces are crafted from dense ironstone ceramic, hand-painted in vibrant enamels often featuring the Imari palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt detailing.

Authentic pieces typically feature impressed or printed crown and banner marks on the base, heavy potting, crazing in the glaze consistent with age, and hand-applied gilding.

It can be placed on a home office desk, bookshelf, or mantelpiece as a striking decorative focal point that introduces historic pattern and colour to contemporary schemes.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners or submerging in water to protect the delicate hand-painted enamel and gilt surfaces.
