Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The William IV style, spanning roughly from 1830 to 1837, bridges late Regency and early Victorian aesthetics, characterised by heavy classical proportions, robust scrolling supports, and rich dark timbers.

Cabinet makers predominantly used imported dense hardwoods such as rosewood and mahogany, often featuring elaborate grain patterns, solid pedestal structures, and sometimes brass castors.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-appropriate construction methods, hand-cut joinery, genuine timber shrinkage, heavy solid rosewood veneers, and classical motifs such as acanthus carving or reeding without modern hardware.

This piece works effectively as a contrasting anchor in contemporary rooms, pairing well with minimalist upholstery, modern lighting, or neutral walls to highlight the deep grain and historical craftsmanship.

Maintain rosewood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dusting with a dry microfibre cloth, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the timber.
