A Late 19th to Early Century Giltwood Carved Wall Mounted Console Table with Drawer, with Sicilian Jasper Marble Top 63cm wide.
A superbly stylish, carved giltwood baroque style console table, circa 1890 with a single drawer front and serpentine shaped marble top, measuring apx 63cm wide.
The turn of century apx, carved wood wall mounted console shows a timeworn, subdued gilding which authenticates character, believed to be English and in the French baroque manner, tbc, later professionally dry scraped back at our workshop.
The ornate giltwood frame with a serpentine front has an elegant form with a scrolling foliate decoration and 2 cabriole legs terminating at a single base, complimented with an ornate finial and splendid Sicilian Jasper marble top.
The gilding reveals the original gesso beneath in some areas which authenticates age and adds to its period charm.
