Description

Exceptional rare Regency painted centre table of stylish form; having spectacular original decoration and artistry; the rectangular top profusely decorated with finely painted colourful flowers, fruit and foliage on a dark background, amplifying the rich vibrant colours; within a border of green and gilt trailing leaves. The top housed in a good quality bronze moulding with Greek key design; above the dark green and gilt frieze having a large folio compartment concealed with a hinged flap having original lock and key. Raised on exuberantly scrolled 'x' end supports; being fluted and tapering; headed with gadrooned collars; united by a turned central stretcher. Terminating in original brass cup castors. The magnificent top incorporating many different flowers, acorns, varieties of fruit including lemons, strawberries, apples, pears, figs and grapes. The dark green frame to simulate patinated bronze. A rare table possibly a one off.
