Antique English Burl Walnut Inkstand / Inkwell C.1860 - Ebony & Boxwood Inlaid

Description

A very handsome shaped inkstand created from a warm nutty coloured burr Walnut decorated with an Ebony and Boxwood stringing inlay following the outline of this elegant base. The edges and the ink tray are Ebonised (black French Polished), a wonderful contrast against the cognac colour.

The base stands on it's three original turned bun feet. On the stand is a large impressive hexagonal shaped inkwell with brass mounts and hinge all in great shape, the glass being free from chips and cracks.

A super desk-top accessory in excellent condition. The base measures 11 1/2" x 8 1/4" and the inkwell measures 3 3/4" across and stands 3 3/4" tall.
