Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Jasperware is a unglazed vitreous stoneware first developed by Josiah Wedgwood in England during the 1770s. It features a matte finish and is recognized for its classical bas-relief decorations applied in contrasting white clay.

The raised bas-relief motifs are crafted separately using delicate press moulds. Artisans manually apply these wet white clay reliefs onto the coloured stoneware body before the piece undergoes firing.

Authentic pieces feature sharp detail in the white reliefs with clear separation from the background body. Genuine items typically carry impressed maker marks, such as WEDGWOOD, stamped into the underside base.

Display a pair on a dining table, console, or mantelpiece fitted with slender white taper candles. The traditional blue and white palette acts as a structured color accent against dark wood or neutral stone surfaces.

Wash matte stoneware gently using warm water mixed with mild liquid soap and a soft brush to lift dust from raised areas. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could mark the unglazed surface.
