A rare late 19th century antique broadside sign relating to execution of George Nunn in 1899. The broadside contains ballads about this and other murders.
He was tried at the assizes at Bury St. Edmunds. Mercy was requested on account of his age but he was hanged by James Billington in Ipswich on the 21st November 1899. The paper poster is mounted in a period antique frame that hinges on the back, so it allows access inside the frame to see the printed ballads. In very good condition, a rare surviving sign. Dates to 1899.
