Ancient Carved Teak Archway, Hindu, Buddhist Temple Doorway
This piece has been removed intact and with very little damage to the carvings, it is made in Teak and is profusely and intricately carved with many wonderful symbols, mythical birds and animals, flowers and deities
The archway has the most elaborate carving at the top even beneath the lintel there is a carved decoration, and it is carried down both sides
The doorway comes apart and can be fitted back together with the wedges, it could be used to line a doorway or it would make a magnificent frame for a mirror or window
It is heavy and in generally good condition, not perfect obviously but a wonderful piece
When assembled the overall frame is 95” tall, 58” wide and 12” deep, the interior opening is 72” high and 37” wide. The uprights are 5”wide
