We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Regency furniture, spanning roughly from 1811 to 1820, is characterised by classical classical proportions, influenced by Greek, Roman, and Egyptian revival motifs, frequently featuring fine mahogany and delicate stringing.

These pieces typically utilized solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over secondary woods, accented with boxwood stringing, brass castors, and hand-turned central pedestals.

Authenticity is determined by inspecting dovetail joints, hand-cut screws, timber shrinkage patterns, patination of the wood, and the presence of original brass hardware rather than modern replicas.

Pair the dark wood tones with neutral upholstery, modern abstract art, or minimalist lighting to create a balanced contrast between historic craftsmanship and modern design.

Maintain the finish by keeping the timber away from direct sunlight and heat sources, applying natural beeswax periodically, and avoiding silicone-based polishes.
