FAQs

The Regency style, spanning roughly from 1811 to 1820, is characterised by classical proportions, inspired by ancient Greece and Rome, featuring fine timbers and restrained ornamentation.

Makers predominantly used dense hardwoods such as mahogany, rosewood, and satinwood, frequently enhanced with decorative veneers like plum pudding mahogany and brass inlay.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period joinery techniques such as hand-cut dovetails in the drawers, patination appropriate to the age, and original brass castors.

Placed behind a sofa or used as a freestanding writing desk, these tables add architectural weight and textural contrast when juxtaposed with modern minimalist upholstery.

Preserve the finish by dusting with a dry, soft cloth, avoiding direct sunlight and excessive humidity fluctuations, and periodically applying a quality beeswax.
