Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the seventeenth century, dummy boardsalso known as silent companionsare flat wooden cutouts painted to portray figures, animals, or objects, historically utilized for home decoration, security, or commercial shop advertising.

Traditional dummy boards were constructed from solid timber panels or layered wood, painted with oil or tempera, and featured hand-bevelled outer edges to generate a trompe loeil illusion of depth.

Authentic period dummy boards exhibit age-appropriate paint wear, bevelled wooden margins, visible timber grain or natural surface age marks, and original rear support structures or stands.

A painted dummy board works as an architectural focal point when positioned in an empty corner, beside a fireplace hearth, or within a hallway alcove to introduce texture and historic detail.

Dust the surface regularly using a dry microfibre cloth, avoid liquid detergents or abrasive solvents, and position the object away from direct sunlight, radiators, or high humidity to prevent paint flaking and timber distortion.
