Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

A French farmhouse table is a traditional utilitarian dining or work table originating from rural France, characterised by sturdy wooden construction, generous proportions and practical design.

These tables are traditionally constructed from European hardwoods such as oak, elm, or chestnut, utilising traditional joinery techniques like mortise and tenon joints.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-appropriate tool marks, hand-cut joinery, timber shrinkage, and genuine patina accumulated through decades of use.

Pairing the rustic wooden texture with contemporary seating or minimalist lighting creates a balanced contrast that anchors a modern dining space.

Maintenance involves dusting with a soft dry cloth and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the wood without damaging the historic finish.
