Antique Early Oak 16thc Carved Cupboard Door with Iron Bolt. French C1540-70.

Description

A very good example of a mid 16thc oak carved cupboard door....it is beautifully carved with a central double flower pattern, framed in a roundel, which itself is framed by a notched border....the corners have foliate chip carved spandrels....it also still retains the original iron bolt...it has an excellent colour and patina....the condition is very good for its great age and has been braced on the back to stabilize a stress crack, which has almost disappeared through the continual use and polishing....
