Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Antique Aynsley coffee services typically feature fine bone china decorated with intricate hand-painted motifs, often complemented by precious metal mounts or overlays from renowned silversmiths, reflecting the high craftsmanship of the late Victorian and Edwardian periods.

These services are constructed using high-fired translucent bone china for the cups and saucers, paired with sterling silver or silver-plated mountings that snugly fit the porcelain vessels, often housed in a velvet and silk-lined leatherette presentation case.

Authenticity is verified through makers marks stamped or printed on the base of the porcelain, corresponding silver hallmarks indicating the assay office and date of the metal mounts, and the overall superior weight and detail of the hand-finishing.

A cased service can be displayed closed on a low console or coffee table to showcase the fitted presentation box, or the individual cups and saucers can be exhibited within a glazed cabinet or sideboard to highlight their metallic and porcelain details.

Preservation requires storing the items in a dry, temperature-controlled environment away from direct sunlight. The porcelain should be hand-washed gently in lukewarm water without abrasive cleaners, and silver components should be polished sparingly with a specialized, non-abrasive cloth to avoid damaging the ceramic.
