Mark Seabrook Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
....not that I can remember working with them.!...but I can remember seeing my great aunt , baking fresh bread , and then cutting a slice , which she would spread with freshly made butter, which was always decorated with beautiful "country" patterns....plus homemade jam......it always tasted as good as it looked and smelled...! It has gained a very good natural colour from being used in the country kitchen and is in excellent condition.
