Prometheus Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The sampler is fully signed and dated within cartouches to the left and right of the family crest; Martha Sthron, April 25th 1826. The frame is later and probably made for the sampler at the turn of the twentieth century, in oak with a gilded edge and mount. The whole is a wonderful and charming example of a later Georgian sampler in superb original condition.
