A superb quality mahogany drop-leaf gateleg dining table dating from the mid 18th Century. The quality of the timber is superb and only the best Honduran mahogany has been used. It stands on cabriole legs with unusual and well carved hoof feet. It has oval leaves which are supported by the legs.
With both leaves extended it makes a good sized dining table, comfortably seating 4-6 people. With both leaves down its narrow size makes it a useful side table.
It is in good condition for its age with no major damages. It has been repolished and displays beautifully with a lovely rich colour and patina. There have been some old repairs to the legs but the table is strong and sturdy. There are a couple of minor marks and knocks and signs of age and use but nothing untoward or detrimental. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
