A Lovely Victorian Rocking Baby’s Crib with the Finest Elaborate Pierced Fretwork Oak Frame.

Description

Totally unique Victorian Elegance! A lovely rocking baby’s crib with the finest elaborate pierced fretwork oak frame. The crib is supported by barley twist columns and one of which is mounted with a carved winged griffin holding a ring in its beak. This ring is presumably for holding a range of toys so that they can’t be removed by the occupant of the crib. The base stretcher features a carved armorial plaque for the Scottish MacLaine family of Lochbuie, making this a ‘one off’ exceptional, high-status piece of furniture with a great history. This piece could easily be repurposed as a shop display item or flower & plant holder etc.

Dimensions- total height 146cm, from floor to top height of cot 93cm, cot only height 30cm, total width 153cm, cot only width 114cm, total depth 70cm and cot depth 51cm
