19th Century Mahogany Writing/reading Table.

Description

A 19th century French mahogany writing table with rising top and pull out candle slides ,all with their original gilt edged leather inserts. Single drawer with interior fittings on one side and a dummy on the reverse side , from where the adjustable rising top opens, with original slot -in reeded brass inlaid book support which is removable. The table has good quality gilded bronze mounts all round and stands on square tapering legs with brass cap feet. In good condition throughout bar the drawer handles which have been replaced at some time. French Circa 1840.
