High Quality Leather Antique Bookslide by Dreyfous of Paris

Description

This a fine quality hand tooled leather Book Slide by Dreyfous. The book slide, in rich red leather and gilt, is signed by its maker Dreyfous (impressed on the inside edge "Dreyfous Paris London New York").

The gilt hand tooling is quite elaborate and reflects the high quality of this luxury designer and retailer. Dreyfous was not only a designer and maker of Objects de Virtue, but he also sold fine art and antiques to a discerning and exacting clientele on both sides of the Atlantic and had the Royal Warrant. Dreyfous retailed in London during the early 1900s. He held Royal Warrants' to His Majesty King George V and also to Their Majesties Queen Mary and Queen Alexandria'.

Dreyfous Paris 128 Mount Street London and 580 Fifth Avenue New York.

The book slide is in excellent condition and looks fabulous anywhere, holding a few favourite volumes. It measures 38 cms long 13 cms deep by 16 cms high. Extended fully it is 64 cms long.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
