The gilt hand tooling is quite elaborate and reflects the high quality of this luxury designer and retailer. Dreyfous was not only a designer and maker of Objects de Virtue, but he also sold fine art and antiques to a discerning and exacting clientele on both sides of the Atlantic and had the Royal Warrant. Dreyfous retailed in London during the early 1900s. He held Royal Warrants' to His Majesty King George V and also to Their Majesties Queen Mary and Queen Alexandria'.

The book slide is in excellent condition and looks fabulous anywhere, holding a few favourite volumes. It measures 38 cms long 13 cms deep by 16 cms high. Extended fully it is 64 cms long.
