Antique Russian Silver Walking Cane Stick Circa 1880

Description

A decorative antique Russian silver handled walking cane with impressed hallmarks 84 and makers mark Pt , Circa 1880 in date.

It has a very decorative silver hook shaped handle with contours that was made with great attention to detail, aove a sturdy hardwood ebonised tapering shaft.

It is a lovely item and as such would be appreciated by any collector of walking sticks or canes.

Russian silversmiths divided their weight measure for silver into standard lots known as “zolotniks” Pure silver consisted of 96 zolotniks. The “84” that is stamped on the walking stick means that their silver content is 875/1000
