This is a very decorative Japanese Imari bowl dating from around 1890. The bowl is exquisitely hand decorated in the traditional Imari colours of iron red, blue and gold and has the most wonderful detail both inside and out. The design features a central panel with a bowl on stand filled with chrysanthemums and side panels of eagles and trailing flowers. The bowl is a good size measuring 32 cms wide and 10 cms high. There is a very small old hairline to the edge (see image) and some rubbing to the gilded rim. The bowl has a signature to the base by the artisan. This is a very decorative and fine piece in good useable condition.
