In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The outer of the case is a rich brown leather with brass fittings and a thick leather handle. The case does not come with any keys but the catches and release buttons work on both sides and hold the case firmly shut. Inside, the case is generally clean and tidy with a maroon lining.
It is in very good condition for its age with no major damages. The outer has sustained some scuffs and light marks, particularly around the corners but nothing detrimental. The case has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
