Simulated Cinnabar Nest of 3 Tables

* English circa 1920

* Highly decorative

* Sturdy, nice quality, with the age worn losses and patina appropriate for

items of this age

* Made from wood

* Main colour is made up of Gesso Base with the Classical Cinnabar Red

colour so typical of Chinoiserie items

* Finely detailed gilding adds a defining outline

* Heavily distressed mirrored tops

* Decorative carving to the shaped moulded edges of all the tables

* Ornately shaped and detailed carvings of figures and foliate designs to

the sides

* Beautifully carved scrolled feet with foliate/leaf designs and Chinese

Meander or ‘Greek Key’ Patterns

* Shaped metal stretcher bar to the back of the largest and middle table

* Shaped wooden stretcher with carved foliate design to smallest table

* All the tables are sturdy and sound

* Some decorative paint/lacquer loss as would be expected due to wear

and age of the items

* W: 55cm (21.7") H: 55cm (21.7") D: 39cm (15.4") - largest table

These are a charming set of 3 Oriental style nesting tables with a paint/lacquer finish that is made up of a Gesso Base with the Classical Cinnabar Red colour so typical of Chinoiserie items and the finely detailed gilding adds a defining outline. These are typical of items made in the Orient and exported to the European market.
