Naive Half Block Model Ship of Archibald Russell

1900 - 1920
Description

A very decorative scratch built half model of the "Archibald Russell". There is a paper label on the reverse with the details of the ship which was built in 1905. This model likely dates from around the same time. The hull is hand carved from wood and the sails are a thick paper with fine string for the rigging.

It is a naive model but well made with lots of intricate detail and it has been nicely mounted in an ebonised wooden frame.

It is in good original condition. There are signs of age and use, some small knocks and scuffs and some minor losses but overall it displays well.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
