Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.

Both pieces are silver mounted with fine intricately pierced foliate mounts.
The bowl stands on three raised open ball feet connected to a matching ring which is attached to the base of the bowl forming the fitted stand whilst the matching cover has a similar larger open ball finial used as a knob for lifting and below there is a shaped and pierced mount set with four cabochons of red agate.

This is a sign of a top quality piece made by a master craftsman
It is in excellent original condition.
The silver is marked on the underside of the lid on the domed silver nut. It is marked .800 silver and there is a maker’s stamp
