This pair of antique two-tier dessert stands originates from the Meissen porcelain manufactory during the 1900 period in a Rococo style. The pieces are fashioned from white porcelain with hand-painted polychrome enamel decoration and gilt edging. Each tier consists of reticulated plates and central supports adorned with hand-painted birds, waterfowl, insects, and floral motifs, while the top of each stand features a detailed figurative finial of a maiden and a man. The turned pedestals rise from circular bases decorated with pastoral scenes and gilt-edged mouldings. Each stand measures 43 cm high, 25.4 cm wide, and 25.4 cm deep. These ornamental stands are suited for display on a sideboard top in a dining room or drawing room setting. They function as decorative accent pieces or traditional serving accessories for desserts and cakes during formal gatherings. The refined porcelain construction and classical figurine toppings complement traditional interiors and French Chateau aesthetics. They offer an authentic display of Meissen craftsmanship, complete with the traditional blue crossed swords mark upon the base.

Meissen porcelain, established in Saxony in 1710, was the first hard-paste porcelain manufacturer in Europe. Two-tiered dessert and sweetmeat stands featuring reticulated lattice borders and sculpted figures gained prominence in the 18th and 19th centuries as central decorative elements for formal banquet tables.

These pieces were crafted from high-fired kaolin hard-paste porcelain. The delicate openwork rims were hand-pierced (reticulated) prior to firing, followed by intricate hand-painted enamel motifs and hand-applied mercury gilding on the borders and central pedestals.

Authentic Meissen porcelain features the trademark underglaze blue crossed swords mark on the underside. Original items display crisp hand-painted enamel work, finely modelled figurative details, and precise pierced lattice work without the heavy transfers or thick glazes found on later reproductions.

A pair of tiered porcelain stands can be positioned symmetrically on a formal dining sideboard or console table to add vertical interest. Alternatively, placing one on a central kitchen island or dining table serves as a functional display for sweetmeats, fruit, or small floral arrangements.

Clean gilded porcelain gently using warm water and a mild dishwashing liquid with a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid soaking multi-part pedestals, never use abrasive sponges or chemical cleansers, and keep items out of automatic dishwashers to protect hand-applied gilding and enamel paintwork.
